Hello CW friends.

Now it's only two weeks left for the fully playable MiniWars beta v0.5.
First thank you CW team for your help and permission to post the news here.

As I told before MW v0.5 is the last version who gets internal gameplay additions because it contains all main engine features and will be fully playable local and over network ( internet ).

What is done :
- MW is 50% refactored and has a new graphic layout ( runs smoother now on really slow pc's )
- main menu, a list menu and an input panel
- Loading Animation
- Map's saved in XML

Work for v0.5 :
- better network logic
- complete the colour filter
- save no mod configurations like SFX volume in a config.xml file
- Health_Independent Damage Option for mod file ( for RPG like mods , means unit with 1HP health makes the same damage as with 10HP )
- Errorchecking for mod file
- change of the position of the information panels if the user moves the pointer to the right or left side
- Army Panel ( number of properities , soldiers and so on )
- ability to naming units
- script engine
- complete co class
- fix silo
- complete SFX sounds and BGM class
- maybe*** a new circle like menu ( for being touch screen friendly )
- ingame database panel ( with information about damage , advantages .... )

The AI is announced for v0.55 , it will be the first next update after v0.5 release.

I've frozen the AI development because of the network mode , because I think network is very important for the playable release. :)

what is network mode? is it done in real time? is there an option for users that can't commit to playing real time?

Network mode is a mode that makes possible to play over network and world wide web.

What do you mean with real time ???

MW engine is turn based and that you have time differences due transport time cost of network packages is normal :)

But I think I don't clearly understand you question sry :P

Maybe you look at here , maybe it answers your question , it on the same computer but connected over internet.

I believe the question is whether or not players can stop playing a match and then resume at the same point at a later time.

Well, I haven't seen any recent action from the lad in AWN... maybe he is taking a break? MiniWars 0.6 was due around a month and a half ago. :?
