Pichu is making a competition called "Quis Night" or something.

Also he did have an art contest once.

more like WWN died because AWN is a bigger social forum and CW/AWBW are better AW forums.

Same ol', same ol'. Everyone abandons saying anything genuinely interesting in favor of trying to be random and funny and Pichu's jokes/references are just as shitty now as they were when you left.

Well, it seems my exit there was quite timely, since I wasn't sure if I could take the 'same ol', same ol'' any longer. Y'see, the real reason for my personality change from oh so nice to the occasionally confrontational asshole (see: my stint against the mods a couple months back) wasn't because it's just my regular personality that I was reverting back to after being accepted by the 'inner circle'. It was just a natural reaction to the mind-numbingly repetitive and addictive social aspect to WWN in a futile attempt to instigate some sort of meaningful change in key members. If they wanted to, WWN could be by far the most intelligent AW community, always well-worth visiting, but yes, everyone's unwillingness to change and contribute (instead electing to joke around endlessly or debating over religion vs. science for the 100000th time) really makes everything about being there a drag.

Seriously, if they want to make WWN even remotely interesting and genuinely worth visiting, the member base left needs to make a real effort to improve and expand their horizons and take some real risks to breed some meaningful discussion.

But, it's WWN, so y'know, they won't.

So how should we (or I) change and contribute? I'm open to suggestions. What kind of interesting discussions do you have in mind?

I'm pretty sure I made the right decision leaving considering I'm the last person active in the ladder.

It's not an AW forum anymore, they don't play.

There's absolutely no point.

The only users worth talking to use different forums.

The users that are WWN exclusive are either retarded like bogman, or they act like bitter 90 year olds, like Linkman. Neither are really worth your time. Terragent? Is he even active lol.

Also I never seemed to understand how WWN tolerated that Newbie/Hans topic that went on for 500+ posts.

I never understood why no one stood up to Hans.

Fuck if you thought GS was bad, Hans was worse. He just arbitrarily locked topics for fail randomly. Like giving an anonymous mod powers.

Not to mention the basic hazing and isolation of new members.

Also WWN seems to attract a lot of people with mental disabilities.

I've stood up to Terragent, as we've seen (For better or for worse...that's up to you), but I have never done it with Pichu.

Pichu can be funny. We all know that, but when he goes into Annie May/desu land, I tend to just ignore him.

I never stood up to him because I never realized the problem. He modded a bus with an odd sense of style that somehow did not give me the heads up that he was modding said bus.

i had tons of respect for terragent before, but as you rise through the wwn ranks or however you want to call it, you don't really think of him as a big deal :S

anyway i doubt completely any of them will change, so there's no point harping on.

I did once in my newbie days and I decided nothing was going to be done about it, so I stood down. >_>

And when it really gets down to it, what is there to stand up to? There's absolutely no point. You're not standing up to a tyrannical dictator, you're scolding a 3 year-old with a gun. Most of his moderations were retarded and overlookable, so no one makes a big deal out of it.

lol yeah

I think most of what kills WWN is exactly what we're most noted for. We're so chill, no one cares enough to do anything interesting. Sad to say, that's the way it's gonna stay. I'm sure we've had this conversation in WWN itself about 40 times before and nothing's happened since then, so I won't hold my breath for a breakthrough now.

AWN was at the forefront of hacking, CCO development, along with having decent social forums and an active ladder.

It all sorta died with the combination of Custom Wars/AWBW. The needs of AW fans became more specialized and WWN sorta died out.

All of the dying AW forums are really banking on that new AW game to pull through.

It could work. I guess there was a rut between AW2 and AWDS and AWDS must have liven things up a bit.

Well, if I can remember, I had a history lesson from a mysterious man from nowhere...

and that history lesson appeared false...

It happened at the mysterious Island of Red Calm...

and if that lesson was correct...then...

You should still do it right now.

If CW could use anything right now, it would be one of your swift kicks in the ass.
