mass damage + awds is still pretty hilarious though

With that I declare the signups closed. No one can edit their CO's anymore apart from creative stuff.

*sigh* how boring. Just so you know, you lied about Blame Games Power then. His should be SCOP of 4 stars, yet it shows his meter as 5.

edit: Just noticed: I like how you corrected me at the exact moment I could no longer change it. Ah well, Colin Smash is teh win anyway.

What you talking about? Base cost of 2 + 3 from 2MD makes 5.

Everything that I haven't forgotten about AW gameplay tells me this will all be an epic trainwreck of epic proportions in which half the CO's are on par with or better than the original broken 5 and the other half are somewhere between Jake and not-actually-capable-of-winning.

Do replays work? I wanna watch this.

P.S. What maps?

I didn't expect anything short of a disaster myself. Anyway this is just a test run really, possible subsequent tournaments would have tweaked and hopefully more reasonable rules.

AFAIK no one has fixed replays, but at least I will be giving some kind of coverage of my battles trough screenshots and commentary, can't speak for the others.

Maps I haven't decided yet. Actually since you are a neutral observer and just hovering around without anything to do apparently, maybe you could do me a favour and pick us four maps to play on? Sure I could do this myself but there's no guarantee I wouldn't abuse my power and choose maps favouring myself.

Sure, but I haven't done this in a while so I dunno how much I remember. Also most of the relevant maps and guides and stuff aren't here anymore, I think, so I'll have to get them from AWBW or my own collection or something.

EDIT: WTF we don't even have a mapping forum anymore

Reverting to using beta25b as the base because of the half-assed dor movement code glitching up everything

OK done, added download links to the first post. I've only done minimal bug testing, so I hope every gentleman is kind and sees for himself if his CO is working as expected. I'll be posting the bracket some time tomorrow so I'd like to have any glitches ironed out by then.

Okay, here's what I'm thinking for maps:
A Simple One vs One: http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=25087
Deserted Beach: http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=28022
Pancake Lake: http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=31757
Awe of She: http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=27950

Like I said, it's been a while and I forget what happened in AWDOR to screw everything up so feel free to point out why any of these maps are horrible horrible horrible choices.

Actually there's only going to be three rounds, so we don't need four maps. All of the ones you posted seem all right to me, with the possible exception of Pancake Lake which is a land-bridgeless naval map and I suppose is the one I'm going to drop.

Anything that happened in AW:DoR is irrelevant, this is using the mainline CW, in DS mode.

Valerie's War Diaries: 1st Battle report part I

Day 6

Image

Valerie creating some pressure on the lower hand side

Day 7

Image

Artillery barraging some infantry. Can Asshole finish capture?

Day 8

Image

Asshole takes what he wants... but at what cost?

Day 9

Image

First Sensei copter deployed to support inf+tank advance.

Day 10

Image

Asshole answers with Kanbei cost, +20 def Anti-Air. Valerie answers with a tank and another Sensei copter. There is smell of carnage in the air as I conclude my reportage for tonight... (sleepy time, see you tomorrow. much luff! ^.^)

Day 12

Image

Asshole's raining mass damage... I kinda played this turn sloppily, could have hurt the north tank more, but meh.

Day 13

Image

The fighting escalates and cities are being exchanged! Valerie uses supe to bring her troops back to fighting condition.

Day 14

Image

Another Asshole SCOP? DS charging really is madness... And he just keeps taking my cities!

Surprisingly this may still turn out to be an almost interesting game.

Day 15

Image

Have to perform tactical retreat on north side, shit ain't looking good. What I'm losing my copter how the fuck did that happen jesus fuck MUST MAKE TANKS TANKS TANKS

Day 16

Image

What he didn't take the copter? lol he's stupid i kill him

Day 17

Image

Okay must keep my head cool... I can still win this.

Sensei copters harrassing Asshole's home base.

Day 18

Image

I can't comment intelligibly on this so I'll just bgfgfghsdjshdfklzsdl<asbk<hzxkl<hz

Day 19

Image

If ONLY that retard would stop capturing psshhh as if income somehow mattered in a game of AW.

I can't teach nubs when my head is smoking with rage I have to go sleep and hope I'm cooled off by tomorrow.

One thing is certain, BG's CO is one annoying bitch.

Oh yeah, boot times... uh let's say you get booted if you take longer than three days to play your turn.

And if shoe doesn't turn up by friday I'll high-jack his CO and play in his stead... crappily.

Same goes for that other guy.

We'll finish this tournament if it means I have to play every game against myself.

Oh yeah it might be good idea to move this battle report thing to its own thread as well someone give me mod powers so I can rule this place more effectively.

Day 20 (hm, felt a chill up my spine for some reason)

Image

Huh how did that inf slip there

Image

OK let's see if I can retain my senses to play one turn properly tonight.

Setting up defences on east side and blocking airport.

Might be a good opportunity to throw in another Ballcrusher to spice things up after that spree of troop resurrection.

I down a copter with two Sensei's. (I like how Sensei is a special model of a copter now instead of a CO)

Have to set my sights on getting my cities back. Even with Kanbei costs, I can't let Asshole go for too long with 6k income advantage. Fortunately I'm doing good in material with 9 units more than my opponent and his position doesn't look incredibly strong either, meaning he'll have to use his next turn for regrouping, allowing me to keep my initiative. I must not fuck up this time.

You know CW works like AWBW right

You don't have to be on at the same time to play.
