Oh hey me and Sven decided to add a basic balance mode of sorts to CWDor.

So we have a new release lolz

Custom Wars Black Dawn Beta 4

Changes:

RNG Luck replaced with constant +5 damage
Walter vision for all

Balance Caulder with 110/110 zone
Balance Waylon with 150/170 zone and 450 COP def
Balance Tasha with 200/160

actually they're better than tabitha too

just restricted to air, but with better stats + bigger zone

Well, there was a great big thread on balancing over at AW. I think the most recent decision was

Waylon: +0/+50 zone 2, Air and Bikes, same power (mmm invicibikes ftw)
Tasha: +70/+0 Zone 1, Air and Infantry, Power upgraded to +3mp

Also, Caulder healing is not as broken as it seems since it costs funds, and in fact has proven more of a hindrance than a benefit at low levels. I believe the latest incarnation was zone 3, +10/+10 heal +3. After all, things like healing a 1 hp infantry for 1or 2 is a waste of 150-300 funds and usually drops you right below threshold for building better units early game.

Oh yeah, I haven't tested it yet, but Isabella Power was nerfed to +1 Move and +1 Range, right?

The changes Narts and Sven have made for this iteration were only for Caulder (Penny zone with +5 healing), Tasha and Waylon. They aren't concerned with the rest of the COs since for the most part they're all to some extent viable.

we've had some experience trying to balance COs. it's great to start tackling all of them at once and changing little things, but in the end you end up with a cast of COs that really... is nothing like what you started with. you have to adjust to compensate for your adjustments, and it all just ends up as really messy.

caulder/tasha/waylon are the only ones that truly need adjustments. all we're aiming for is that caulder gets down to around a little bit above tabitha/isabella, and so that waylon/tasha are actually remotely viable on some maps with airports on them.

lol shoe you have no idea how DoR works, without ground boosts they really are no threat.

Also, take into account that just a Tabi Bomber (180/180 after all boosts) counter kills AA. much more than that and Bomber and even Seaplanes Become completely unstoppable.

From what I'm understanding, You doubled both Waylon and Tasha's Stats, right? so Waylons COUnit is 170/190 (+zone 2) and Tasha 210/170 (+zone 1)

Also, I don't have a solution, but Brokenmain is using a Mac (right?) just in case that makes a difference.

waylon's boosts go from 2/3 to 4/6.
tasha's boosts are doubled from 4/2 to 8/4.

yes you are looking at the correct stats.

i'll set up a game tommorow, you can play your tasha vs my isabella/brenner/tabitha.

some moves do 0 damage to other moves, just play a game out and you'll see it pretty quickly :/

Display calc now uses same code as the actual damage calc. This may or may not fix the 0dmg bug but at least it should ensure the displayed damage is consistent with the damage actually dealt.

Removed the option for turning balance mode off because it was causing confusion. We don't need this anyway - if people want authenticity they can play the cart.

Oh and apparently I've nuked the map list at some point. Uh... well, tough beans. Gwar har har!
