And here's how they look in practice.
Image

Its not much.. really...
But it was intended to be another addition to the terrain list
( you know, normal, snowy, desert, wasteland... the works! )

Admittedly, a lot of the individual pieces are just recolors, but thats what the terrain sets are, right? And the specifics, like the trees and mountains, are in full throttle.

Also, I gave the neutral buildings a new look in the set, cause I figured, if it was the Black Hole homeworld, all cities would be Black Hole...
Some are just... slightly less .. Black Holey .. than others >_<
Of course, this can be changed if people miss their good ol' white neutrals

And..
If people are cautious about venturing to the BH Homeworld..
Or if nobody can work it into a campaign...
This could instead be the "Parallel Galaxy" that "Parallel Galaxy" came from >_<
Or... it could be... I dunno... some sort of new variant of the wasteland

But whatever ...
Its here

Enjoy

[ :D ]

This is awesome Smurf!

We need to make a campaign for this.

Whoa! Talk about neon!

That's a cool tileset you made there. I think we could find a use for it; it's too awesome not to be used.

:D

And as for THM...
I tried a generic future-road set so the roads would correspond to the bridges... but the result is meh at best
Image

I really liked the old roads better, they were more unexpected
( however.. if the Dirt Road terrain makes it in, the old roads can serve as that, and these new roads can be the regular Roads )

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Rock on!

[ peace and kudos ]

I think its because it still lacks the same zing as the bridge. I would make examples to help this, but This new comp ios confusing.

This hurts my eyes. But the sheer uber-coolness of it, makes it worth the burn.

Its a little to...purple...

Earth is mostly green/blue, and humans aren't green or blue (usualy)... So it doesn't have to match the skin color... Or be in the same league as it...

Having said that... try making the ground a light gold like color, and make the ocean ruby like...

*shrugry*

Curve your roads slightly at the bends, i've noticed that completely striahgt roads look bad when making tilesets.

@ Veggie

I can try the curved roads ( I'll get back to ya later )

@ Uber

Sorry, I'm confused..
Whats the difference?
The only noticable difference is the building sprites, and they're the same... its the terrain that matters
Maybe I've just missed the boat >_<

@ Gamer

Just to clarify...
Gold ground and ruby ocean
THATS JUST THE WASTELAND TERRAIN! XD
Besides, I didn't even factor the correlation of Earth and Black Hole to their respective populous...
I just liked the colors
*shrugs*

[ eh, doesn't have to be used if its not liked... I just thought it was neat ]

Yes the buildings is all that needs to be changed for it too be in CW mode. You know thats what it will look like if it gets in so lets see it the way it should be.

Ok, I'll fix it up for you
I'll also curve the roads and try to slightly reduce the horrible blinding colors :D

Edit: Image
Curved roads and AW-CW spritesets
Not much of a noticable difference, but its good stuff

Oh, and I tried a lighter, redder color for the terrain.
It was terrible. And I've tried different oceans, but green totally wins.
So I guess... this is it. Rock on!

[ peace ]

Oh damn.

Thats a good point.

I'll think about that.

We could overlay 'thrusters' onto the ship, and make the background spacey.

It doesn't matter about the bottom of the ships, because they go off the screen... i think XD

You could replace the water splashes with thrusters or something, yes.

Er.. in any case.. I'd be happy to do the Backgrounds for this tileset..
If it were to make it in..
But as the polls stand now... it seems it will be swiftly turned down
:(

[ eh, back to the drawing board ]
